At their 38th annual meeting on October 20, members of the Rural Planning Caucus (RPC) of Virginia appointed VACo Director of Local Government Policy Joe Lerch to serve on their executive committee.
The RPC is an organization dedicated to identifying, publicizing and satisfying the unique planning needs of small towns and rural areas. Members range from planning commissioners, professors, professional planners and administrators to economic development professionals, transportation and transportation demand management (TDM) planners, lawyers, engineers and other land planning professionals. Members represent small towns, counties and larger localities striving to retain rural character in their communities.
In addition to serving on the RPC executive committee Joe Lerch is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), as well as a member of the Virginia Chapter of the American Planning Association.
