- Buses and Bus Facilities Competitive Program
• Deadline: May 31, 2022
• There’s up to $372 million available to allow recipients to purchase, rehab, or lease buses, vans, or related equipment as well as finance any workforce development activities to support these vehicles.
• Possible recipients: state, county, city, or township governments, Native American tribal governments (federally recognized), and some others. - Low or No Emission Grant Program
• Deadline: May 31, 2022
• There’s up to $1.1 billion available to allow recipients to purchase, rehab, or lease low- or no-emission buses, build new facilities that would support these buses, and finance any workforce development activities to support these vehicles.
• Possible recipients: state, county, city, or township governments, Native American tribal governments (federally recognized), and some others. - FY 2022 National Infrastructure Investments (RAISE Grants)
• Deadline: April 14, 2022
• There’s up to $2.3 billion available to carry out projects with significant local or regional impact. This is a preexisting program, so you can read about past awards here, but examples include dedicated bus lanes in Baltimore, highway and bridge repair in New Mexico, dock replacements in Alaska, and a rail-to-trail project in Arkansas.
• Possible recipients: a unit of local government; a public agency or publicly chartered authority; a special purpose district or public authority with a transportation function, including a port authority; a federally recognized Indian Tribe; a transit agency; and a multi-State or multi jurisdictional group of entities. Joint applications are often possible as well. - MEGA, INFRA, and RURAL Grants
• Deadline: May 23, 2022
• There’s up to $2.9 billion available for major rail, bridge, port, highway, public transit, or intermodal projects. Read more about the opportunity and past awards here. A wide range of governments (including local and tribal governments), transit agencies, and planning organizations are eligible to apply, but you can find more details on page 10 of this document.
• These programs support larger-scale projects that can be more challenging to fund because they cross modes and funding silos – and all three are housed under a single application, so projects can be considered for funding across multiple programs.
• Possible recipients: a unit of local government; a public agency or publicly chartered authority; a special purpose district or public authority with a transportation function, including a port authority; a federally recognized Indian Tribe; a transit agency; and a multi-State or multi-jurisdictional group of entities.
