Virginia Chesapeake Bay Local Government Advisory Committee (LGAC) Members to Host Roundtable Discussions for County Leaders

The Virginia delegation of the Local Government Advisory Committee (LGAC) has planned two roundtable discussions for local government leaders to weigh in on key elements of the Chesapeake Bay Program’s (CBP) work that has the potential to impact local governments. One of the more important topics expected to be covered at these meetings is the potential impacts and outcomes the Chesapeake Bay Program Beyond 2025 draft report may have on local governments. This report prioritizes and outlines the next steps for meeting the goals and outcomes of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement leading up to and beyond 2025. Here is the full draft report and a FAQ.

Discussion topics will also include land-use planning, state/federal stormwater regulations, funding for local governments and more. Feedback from the discussion will be incorporated into formal recommendations from LGAC to federal and state decision-makers.

The discussions will be facilitated by LGAC members and representatives from CBP will be in attendance. Attendees are invited to bring their local water quality success stories, water-related issues, and critical needs they wish to address to continue the momentum of the incredible work of their local government. By joining, attendees can help ensure their community is accurately reflected and included in the Chesapeake Bay Program’s conversations on the future of watershed cleanup efforts. Below are specific details for each roundtable.  To RSVP, please click the title of the meeting you wish to attend.
